Media Search

What is a media search?
Research the applicant's outside business interests, and active participation in organized events through national newspaper databases and Internet resources, including identifying the applicant as author of postings in any Usenet discussion groups.

Why is a media search relevant?
An applicant may have an interest in a competing business, could be posting inappropriate comments, or disclosing proprietary information about a current or past employer(s)

Example:
KR Screening obtained evidence that an applicant was soliciting specific information from on-line discussion groups in order to extort from his current employer.
