How can you be sure you are hiring the right candidate?
Take precautions. Pre-employment screening is an effective risk
management tool for any company. The cost (both financial and organizational)
to screen an employee is substantially less than the cost of managing
high-risk employees and/or repeatedly filling a position. Pre-Employment
screening can effectively reduce your risk.
Today's competitive climate has resulted in varying degrees of
acceptance of embellishment within resumes, however deception through
blatant misrepresentation and/or concealment poses considerable
risk factors that may lead to a high level of exposure.
Undesirable activity in the workplace is not limited to theft of
company property, but extends to workplace harassment and violence,
illegal activity such as drugs and alcohol in the workplace, absenteeism,
aggressive behaviour, theft of confidential information, slandering
an employer and so forth.
Employers require honest, hard-working employees who will become dedicated team members, take initiative, and fit in well
with the company's workplace culture.
